Manual therapy and TMJ

Hands on techniques to reduce pain and restore movement, from the back and neck to the jaw. In Imola and Portomaggiore.

What manual therapy is

Manual therapy is a set of techniques performed with the hands: joint mobilization and manipulation, soft tissue work, myofascial release and trigger point treatment.

In my sessions manual therapy never works on its own: I pair it with simple, targeted exercises so the benefit lasts after the treatment. I am trained in myofascial manipulation, levels 1 and 2, a method that works on the fascia, the tissue that wraps muscles and joints.

TMJ and headaches

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects the jaw to the skull. Pain when chewing, clicking or other noises when opening the mouth, stiffness on waking or frequent headaches can also involve this area and the neck.

I have specific training in TMJ and headache treatment. I assess the jaw, neck and posture together and, when needed, suggest you also talk to your dentist or doctor.
